The Torch Hotel: a unique structure

The Torch, an iconic project located in the heart of Doha’ Sports City, has announced its entry into Qatar’s luxury hotels market.
 
Located at Aspire Zone, the hotel at 300m high has a “Three Sixty” restaurant, which is Doha’s only revolving restaurant that provides 360° panoramic views of the city and one that serves international cuisine with a Mediterranean twist.
 
The tower is the result of a “comprehensive architectural, engineering and technical” design, shaped to represent a colossal torch which for the duration of the 15th Asian Games in 2006 held its symbolic flame, the tallest and highest positioning of a games flame to date.
 
The beginning of 2012 marked the visit of world-class football teams Schalke 04 and Paris Saint Germain.
“Both teams took advantage of the excellent conditions during their training camps in Doha, be it weather, training or hotel facilities. The Torch Doha was proud to host Doha Goals Forum – a gathering of leaders in sport - aimed at producing innovative initiatives informed by the values of sport and its role for social and economic development,” a spokesperson said.
 
The second international Sports Security Conference (ICSS) will take place at The Torch in March.
The unique structure of The Torch Doha includes some 17 floors of five-star hotel accommodation featuring 167 rooms and suites; three signature restaurants, a “breathtaking” revolving restaurant at 240m above ground, four levels of health club with cantilevered swimming pool 80m above ground, fitness facilities with state-of-the-art equipment, a business centre as well as a walkway access to Doha’s largest shopping mall Villaggio.
 
One of the few hotels in the world to take the lead in terms of the latest in-room technology, Torch Doha has introduced Interactive LED TVs and a Media Hub Phone System - including a wireless phone, landline and an innovative Smart pad in-room service menu. The intricate Arabic wall interiors featuring a unique in-room mood light system with 12 different colours adding on to the unique guest experience.
With a mission to provide an exquisite dining experience, The Torch Doha said it prides itself on the calibre of its cuisine.

Three Sixty restaurant offers “magnificent panoramic” views of Doha. Located on the 47th floor of the hotel, Three Sixty is Doha’s only revolving restaurant and serves international cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. Three themed set menus are available -Greek, Italian and Oriental.
 
From March, “Sunset high tea” will be served from 4pm to 6pm every day and weekly chef’s special is available on the menu. Three Sixty is open for lunch from noon to 3pm and dinner from 7pm to 10.30pm.
A key feature is live piano music by David Philips every day from 1pm to 2pm and from 7pm to 11pm.
Torch Doha has “Flying Carpet,” an all-day dining restaurant, which combines Continental, Arabic and Far Eastern cuisine with a “modern approach.”
 
The restaurant showcases live cooking stations, which creates a unique interaction between service, chefs and guests. Just like the legendary story, this restaurant is reminiscent of chefs being flown in from all over the world with their talent and secret recipes, creating a cosmopolitan buzz.
Located on the 50th floor of the hotel, the soon-to-open “Panorama” restaurant will serve a “gourmet feast of delectable Asian fusion cuisine.”
