Stunt bikers, brave FMX and Drifters stunned the audience at Qatar Motor Show 2012 yesterday by jumping and sliding against high speed gravity leaving a trail of smoke sailing tire on the track.Drifters Abdo Feghali and Marco Giony, action biker Chris Pfeiffer and FMX motocross riders Nick Franklin, Nick De Wit and Fredrik Berggren came to Qatar to showcase their skills for hundreds of fans and spectators gathered for a special outdoor event at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
Before the event started, Feghali told Gulf Times that motor sport is in his blood when he came from a family of race car driver, began his career as a rally racer in 1998 at age 20. A Lebanese Rally and Hill Climb champion and four-time champion Middle East Hill Climb, he began drifting with the Red Bull team in 2008. "It was a new idea in the Middle East because the float was not here before. Float is all about vibrations, control car, attracting fans and smoke the tires. First we do locally in Lebanon, and then we decided to go regional, and That's what we have done since 2010, and year after year is getting bigger and bigger. We started years ago with the Qatar Motor Show as a test for us and for them to see if this will attract some people a lot and everyone went mad. That why we do it this year even bigger and more action by the rider, with FMX riders and a few other things so I hope we will all enjoy the event. "
Asphalt track specially built outdoor spread over nearly 7,000 square meters. This area has a capacity of 1,500 spectators.
Outdoor activities also involve the winner of a social media campaign that organizers of Qatar Motor Show 2012 ran in the lead up to the event on Twitter and Facebook. Visitors also have the opportunity to test drive their favorite vehicles in the area adjacent trials.
Organised by the Qatar Tourism Authority, in partnership with Q.media Events and Activities GL, 2012, Qatar Motor Show is hosting the latest cars, concept cars, classic cars, motorcycles, and car service providers.
This event takes place from 16:00 to 22:00 today, while revenue at the end of this week are 13:00 to 10:00.
