Doha is a great shopping destination and one of the main attraction of the city. There are mainly three different kind of places to shop: Traditional Souqs, City center medium sized markets and large modern shopping malls.
Souqs and traditional markets
Souqs and traditional markets lie in the heart of Doha. They are the most popular places to shop where Qataris look for incense, perfume, spices, jewelry, traditional clothes, … Souq Waqif is the one not to be missed if visiting Doha for the first time: It has been redesigned in 2004 but the atmosphere of old days when Bedouin tribespeople traded their goods is still there.
